Magical Candle Cozy Pattern

Recommended Yarns: size #4 weight yarn from your yarn stash.

I used Loops& Threads Impeccable Yarn -26 grams

Crochet hook: Crochet hook size G/6/4mm

Ball Wide Mouth Mason Jar 16 oz 

round 1: Slip knot, ch 8 or magic ring and sc 8sts, ss, ch 1. Tighten magic ring to close hole. Optional to leave a small opening to allow candle light to peek through.

round 2: 2sc in 1st st from round 1, place marker (pm) in 1st sc st, 2sc in remaining 7 sts (16sts), ss to stitch marker (sm).

round 3: Ch1, pm, ch3 (4 ch total), *dc in next st, ch1* repeat x 15, ss into 1st ch of ch 4 space from beginning of this round to join.

round 4: Ch3 , pm in 3rd ch, work in the spaces made from round 3 double crochets. In the first space, 2dc (there are now 3 dc made in this space including the ch 3), *sc 1 in next dc space, In the next space (3dc, ch 3, 3dc)* repeat ** x 7, sc 1 in next dc space. Back in the first space worked in this round, 3dc, ch 1, 1sc into the sm (which is the top of the 3rd chain). 8 petals.

round 5: Begin work in the middle of the 1st petal; 1sc in space in between the 3dc (from round 4) from each side of the petal, pm. *Ch3. In next center petal 3dc, ch 3, 3dc. Ch 3. 1sc in center space of next petal* repeat x 3. Ch3. In the next center petal 3dc, ch 3, 3dc. Ch 3, ss into 1st sc with sm from this round.

round 6: Ch1, , pm, *front post sc around sc petal tip from round 5. 3sc in the chain 3 space (from round 5). Next, 1sc in each of the 2 dc spaces (there are 3 dc from round 5 that show 2 spaces between the 3 dc). At the corner, 3 sc, ch1, 3sc. Next, 1sc in each of the 2 dc spaces (there are 3 dc from round 5 that show 2 spaces between the 3 dc), 3sc in the chain 3 space. * repeat** x 3, ss into sm, cut yarn.

Make second square. Pick one side of square and half double crochet down this side. With first square and right sides facing second square, sc down hdc side of 2nd square. Cut yarn. On the opposite side of second square, hdc down that side. SC first square to second square from the inside so sc is on the inside of the project. Cut yarn.

Slip stitch the top and bottom of piece as follows: 3 sts, skip 1 st, repeat.

Weave in yarn tails and block piece to fit mason jar.
