🐾 A Snowflake for Coco

This week’s free pattern is extra special to me. It’s called “Coco’s Snowflakes” — a simple, beautiful crochet snowflake that takes only about 15 minutes to make.

I named this pattern after one of my dear Pomchi dogs, Coco, who passed away earlier this year. Coco absolutely loved Christmas. Her very first Christmas with us, she received a pile of tiny squeaky toys as presents. She was so overjoyed (and a little overwhelmed!) that she didn’t move all day! We actually considered taking her to the emergency vet!

It turned out she was just happily guarding her new treasures. Once I moved her toys to her basket, she got up and resumed being her happy, loving self.

So this snowflake is for Coco  - a joyful reminder of the simple love and happiness our pets bring us, especially during the holidays.

❄️ About the Pattern

✨ To Stiffen Your Snowflakes

You can use this simple cornstarch method to help your snowflakes hold their shape:

2 cups cold water (1 cup at beginning and 1 cup at the end)
2 tbsp corn starch

Combine 1 cup cold water and corn starch in bowl. Stir over medium
heat until mixture thickens, then remove from burner. Add 1 cup cold
water and stir. Add snowflakes to mixture and squeeze out excess liquid. Place on blocking board or towel and pin to shape until dry.
